About Me

Hi there, bookworms!

I am Riya, a 15-year-old girl obsessed with books. It doesn’t matter what genre it is or who the author is—I read them; I banter about them, and I am even writing them. As a book lover, I know how hard it is to find a new book that you are sure you would love. Of course, we’ve all heard about the ever-famous Harry Potter series and the newly popular Powerless series. But what happens when you have read everyone and are craving more? I did, and let me tell you, it was awful.

I had to scroll through YouTube Shorts and, looking at their brief reviews, wonder if my taste would align with theirs. Despite scouring bookshops and randomly selecting books, I discovered some five-star reads, yet remained unsatisfied with most of my choices. Don’t get me wrong—the feeling of discovering new books on your own is a special experience in itself. But if you are a person who goes into a bookstore completely prepared, or if you are in a reading slump and need to read a five-star read, you have come to the right place.

I am here to give you my honest opinion on the books I read and save you the time and energy in researching whether the book you picked up was worth your time. I would review each part of the book – the plot, the characters, and the themes. And once I laid it all out on the table for you, it’s up to you to choose to read it or not.

Here is my rating system:

1 star – The book was awful, and I feel sorry for anyone who reads it.

2 stars – It was okay, but I won’t recommend it.

3 stars – A good book but nothing unique about it.

4 stars – I absolutely loved it and would recommend it.

5 stars – The book had me in a jumble of feelings, and I wouldn’t be able to talk about it without tearing up or jumping up and down in excitement.

These are the rubrics by which I rate my books completely based on my experience. If you have different opinions, reach out to me and let’s talk it over. I warmly welcome your suggestions about my writing style or about which books I should read next in the comment section.

Happy Reading!

Riya PK
